Some Things To Keep In Mind

Parents need to know that Dora and Friends is a story-making tool featuring the newer, more grown-up-looking Dora and her friends as well as up to four characters that kids can customize. There’s a nice range of skin colors, hair styles and colors, and eye colors as well as clothing options for kids to customize boy and girl friends. Kids then move their characters and props around a scene while they narrate a story, which the app records. You can save finished story videos in the app or to your device’s camera roll.

Our Thoughts on the Level of Engagement:

Although Dora fans may be drawn to the app, even kids who aren’t interested in or familiar with Dora will find lots of fun with the range of characters and settings. It’s really fun to design your own character here!

The Support Level for Dora and Friends is about a 4 out of 5.

Stories are saved in-app and also can be transferred to the device’s camera roll with a click. Kids are guided through each step of story-making by verbal instructions and can tap the idea lightbulb to get a story idea.
