Q: without actually having xbox live? I live in South Africa, which is unfortunately one of the "unsupported countries". I am working on it, I know there is a way around it (setting up a fake address in the UK etc) but for now, I was wondering if there is any way to get content such as Live Arcade games via a PC and a USB? Is there anything available (updates etc) that you can download off the internet and stick on your xbox 360 using a usb or burnt dvd? Thanks
A: There are discs available that have Backwards Compatible games, and some choice XBLA games that you can get - the BC discs are (supposedly) free from Microsoft. And you have XBLA Unplugged Vol. 1. Outside of those 2 things, the only way you can get content is if you go on Xbox Live. I would suggest not listening to the other poster, and set up a fake UK or US account name. There are websites that can help you with that. Provided your going to use the fake Email as a one-off event, and download everything possible very quickly, you shouldn't have any repercussions - I've done it as an American to download Japanese-only content with no repercussions, because I only used the JP profile once.
