Q: so i got my xbox 360 yesterday from a friend...and he said it had the 3 lights of doom when you play it for about an hour so im looking online and its either you have to pay 25$ for this manual or towel trick which sucks and send it back to Microsoft and they will fix it. i dont no if he has a warrenty or not i guess i could just fill out the one that it came with so yeah if any one knows a free way and a good way step by step kind of thing that would make the 3 lights of doom go away for ever that would be great!!!
A: any manual you are going to buy on ebay is basically going to give you the x-clamp fix, which now that you know the name of it, you can just google for free. So I wouldn't pay for any "fix". The x-clamp fix has been found to be about 85% effective, but there's also about a 70% chance of it happening again. Besides if you have the warranty seal still on your 360, you'd be better served to call 1-800-4My-XBOX and sending it to them to fix it for free and you get the warranty extended.
