Q: how on earth do u connect the two??? i have connection and can browse the Internet but i cant connect my PC and Xbox so i can listen to music. It gave me an 8 digit code but i don't know where to put it! I have also done the Library, media sharing and accepted it but nothing happens. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!????????
A: Do you have a Windows Media Center OS (i.e. Windows XP Media Center Edition or Windows Vista Home Premium or Vista Ultimate)? If you only have the regular Windows XP, then the Media Center functionality won't work. If you have XP MCE or the Vista versions above, then it works like this: Turn on your PC and boot to the Windows desktop. Select the Media Center option on your Xbox and wait for the 8 digit code. On the PC, there should be a red dot with an exclamation mark in the System Tray next to the clock (usually in the bottom right). Click on this red dot, and the Media Center Installer will guide you through the rest of the setup. Enter the 8 digit code and follow the on screen instructions.
