Q: I've been told that many if not all the songs from Rock Band (including downloadable songs) will be playable on Rock Band 2.
A: You pay a 1 time fee of ~$4.99 and you export all (except 3) of the songs to your hard drive. Once you do that, you should be able to delete any that you do not want from in-game.
