Q: I've been wondering lately about the decision i made a couple of months ago about getting the 360. But now i feel scared when they talk about the red rings. I've had a lot of fun with my 360 but now i feel that i've perhaps made the wrong choice. Or are the red rings just individual cases or most of the people who buy one get it? BTW I have a 360 with the falcon chip. Pls help.
A: I purchased my Xbox 360 in November 2006, never had an issue. Then on friday Aug 29th I suffered the dreaded Red Ring of Death. I immediatly followed the trouble shooting script on xbox support then called the #. Within 2 hrs I had electronic shipping labels to send it out to be fixed. I shipped it and it is at the repair facility as of today. I did not get the run around from xbox support at all. They were quick to help me resolve the issue. Just make sure you register your xbox on-line so they have a record of your purchase date. The warranty for RRoD is 3 years from date of purchase. I think you are OK b/c you have the new hardware. Mine was the old hardware, Pre-HDMI output.
