Q: I basically want to know, for example, if we both have Madden 08, or some other game available for both original Xbox and Xbox 360 - with Xbox Live - can we play together? If not, wtf! If so, does anyone know a place where there is a list of games, or let me know which ones with which they've had success? Thanks so much! Fingers are crossed here. Also, if I have an old xbox game on 360 can I use online play? i.e. if i can't play with him cross platform, can i play with him backwards compatible?
A: You will not be able to do this with newer games (i.e. 360 formatted) However, if you have two copies of an original xbox game, like Halo 2 for example, you can. You should be able to play with him if you both had Madden 08 copies in original xbox format, provided the game is backwards compatible. There are many websites which list all backward compatible games that you can play on your 360. Check just to be safe. If you want to play with your son you will have to do one of two things - 1) Play original format games and sacrifice the beauty of 360 graphics, or 2) Get your son a 360 of his own.
