Xbox360+HDTV?

Q: So my brother and I each have enough money saved up to buy a 360 elite and a couple of years of Live Gold. I want to get the 360 but he doesnt. Also, we don't have an HDTV so my second question is is an HDTV requiered for the complete 360 experience? coz i wanna play games like CoD4 and Battlefield Bad Company, and I've heard that its a must for HD. But the other problem is also that we already have a Wii from relatives. My dad is fine with me buying this stuff(i think) but my mom isn't as much. What do i do????? asdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdf Ok don't look at that EDIT: Right so i read these answers. My dad definetely wants to get an HDTV but he keeps delaying coz of prices. My mom doesn't want the 360 coz of violence and coz since i'm still in HS and have 2 AP classes running she thinks games are the wrong way. My bro doesn't want it coz he sadly has most of the cash(i have 50% locked up because i wanted to, and he's been saving since 3rd grade) and also coz he thinks that a wii is enough. Iono maybe i'll just wait until summer. Thanks guys!

A: the real question is: are you fine without HD? You really don't need HD for the full xbox experience unless you absolutely must have those graphics. The xbox is a great system, but it has its faults so you need to keep that in mind. just to let you know, the elite is a very good choice, since it comes with the extra hdmi output. it doesnt really matter if you use it or not. keep in mind the costs of accessories and games, though. i'm not saying that you shouldn't get the system. by all means get it if you wish, but you should talk it over with your brother and mother and ask why they don't agree with getting the 360. if not both of them, then probably one of them will have a good reason for not getting the 360.
