Q: i would like to know which out of the 2 is better. I'm not bothered about the games that come out i'm bothered about things like graphics and speed and features. So which is better?
A: In terms of power, the 360 and PS3 are almost equal, with the PS3 perhaps having a *slight* edge overall (that's why multi-format games look the same, whereas they looked better on XBox last gen). So don't listen to those who say the PS3 has better graphics than the 360, or vice-versa, because they're about the same. And ignore all posts which says one console is great and the other is not, because that's just fanboy talk. :| To correct a post above, the PS3 doesn't have twice the processing power of the 360. The graphics processing units (GPUs) are about even, the Cell processor in the PS3 has in theory twice the power of the 360's CPU for *arithmetic*, but the 360's CPU has twice the power for running *main code*. So it balances out in the end. Anyway musicmaniaytab, for an *honest* idea of how the consoles compare in technical terms, you need to listen to developers with experience creating quality games for BOTH consoles. For example, listen to podcast episode 15 "Invasion of the programmers" from Criterion, developers of the Burnout series; http://www.criteriongames.com/podcast/archive/ And there you have it, the opinions from developers who know about both consoles in detail, and therefore are the best people to compare them. Therefore it's not about the 360 being better or the PS3 being better. Both are great consoles, both have strengths and weaknesses, so in the end, it really IS about the games. For some, the 360 has better games, for others it's the PS3 with better games, but as long as gamers are enjoying the games on their console, does it really matter which console is the best? :)
