Playing PSP without the battery.?

Q: Can you do it? I mean by taking out the battery and letting the psp run on AC power via the AC adaptor( charger) cos its a chore to keep charging the battery.

A: While you can remove the battery to play off AC power, it's not necessary. The battery charges while the unit is plugged in, however, once the battery is finished charging, the charging circuit stops charging the battery and draws it's power from the adapter. I don't know why you think it's a chore to keep charging the battery...you could either mean it's a pain to have to keep charging it or you think it's putting too much stress on the circuits to keep it in charge cycle. The reality is the Litium-Ion technology used in the PSP's battery pack will actually last longer if you keep it charge. Letting it die and then charging it is not a good method of maintaing these types of batteries (old rechargables required this). If you let your battery pack constatntly run to the point of powering off, euventually what will happen is the battery will stop functioning entirely. It's a better idea to leave it plugged in and not take the battery out. Leaving it plugged up all night isn't going to hurt anything.
