Is the PSP as good as people say it is?

Q: I have decided to get a PSP 2001 over an iPod, before making my decision final, I have to know if the PSP has any major faults. For me to vote you best, answer all these: -My friends have dead pixels on their PSPs, is the PSP susceptible to dead pixels? Or Have they just ruined theirs? -Do the buttons break/snap/pop-out easily? -How likely is a PSP to break in the hands of a 12 year-old who uses his PSP at school, home, and in the city (metropolitan setting)? -Are you impressed with your PSP (If you have one)? -Do you think the cost is worth it? - How much will an 8GB Memory Card for PSP cost in 2 years (will it get cheaper, stay the same, get more expensive, OPINIONATED!)? - Any faults/glitches I should know about? - When do you think the PSP 3001 is coming out? Should I wait for that? (Please try and research this question) Thank you for taking time to read this! :) Uhm... well i was wondering if people could answer the question with smooth writing style, not like a robot. That makes the answer simpler for me to understand, and could you add what you think of the PSP compared to other things? Oh yeah, my budget is only 250$ I need: -PSP 2000 - Basic console and accesories -Extra Battery Pack -Memory to store 1000 songs, 3 Movies, 100 game files, 200 Photos, extra space Can you tell me what products I need for that, and then how much i went over my budget?
