A: It's the pokemon's nature that affects their favorite flavors and statboosts. Their favorite flavors have an effect on their contest stats. For example, the dry food can give a pokemon a better contest stat, but this only works when the food has been made into something like a pokeblock. If a pokemon likes the dry flavor, and you give it a dry pokeblock, it will have a great boost in that beauty stat. It also has a flavor dislike. Dislikes make raising the connected beauty stat hard to raise. This is because it won't get as big a boost. The other flavors for pokemon are neutral. Each flavor is connected to a stat, like if Special Attack is down, so is the Dry flavor being disliked. The nature boosts certain stats as the pokemon levels up. however, for every nature boost, there is a weakened stat, depending on the nature. Some natures cause a neutral of everything. That means it doesn't have a favorite flavor, dislike, boost of a battle stat, or a weakened battle stat.
