Q: i read someone post that the wii is up to date with technology but im wondering is that true
A: The Wii is NOT up-to-date with current gaming technology...except for the motion sensing. The graphics capability of the system is severely outdated, which means the Wii's graphics are only slightly better than the GameCube and about on par with PlayStation 2. The system doesn't have a hard drive, which it sorely needs. The video does not output in HD, not even by upconverting (like Xbox 360). It can't even read DVD's. This is a reason why the system is so small. Nintendo didn't want to spend a lot of money in beefing it up, so they went for creating a console that appeals to the casual gamer, which doesn't care for strong horsepower.
