Q: Hi, If I buy a Nintendo Wii from the USA and then move to Australia, will the Australian bought games etc be compatible? I realise I will need to get an adapter to plug it into the wall.... Good point David... hmmm... they are just so much cheaper in the US is all... how much are these mod chips you speak of :)
A: I'm not sure of the prices of modding a Wii, but it's definitely worth it to wait and buy one there. It might cost more, but at least your Wii is guaranteed to work - if you use a mod chip, it's not unlikely that your console will be bricked (meaning it stops working) after a system update. And unless you are pretty tech savvy, you probably won't be able to avoid the updates since they are often required to play some of the newer games.
