Q: Is there a way to hook my wii up to my Desktop computer, or modem, and play online? or do i really have to have wifi? Well, i have a modem, but.... where do i hook crap up to the wii? ive searched all over it.
A: If you have a modem near your wii, you can skip the wifi router and plug this in: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/acc/wiiLAN.jsp I bought one for my boyfriend and he's thrilled with it. He has to unplug his laptop, plug in the wii, and restart his modem every time, but he now has access to Super Metroid, Donkey Kong Country 2, and a host of other games so he isn't complaining. We also really didn't want to mess with setting up a router just for the Wii and his laptop in his tiny two-room apartment. Restarting your modem every time will probably not be necessary. His is a little weird. :-P Just plug the ethernet end of the lan adapter into the modem and the USB end into the Wii. Away you go!
