Wii help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Q: i just bought a Nintendo wii and i found out i am going over seas to Yemen. i just wanted to know if a USA wii would work in another country or would it blow up.if i need something to buy will you tell me.

A: You're going to have issues galore unless you prepare the the issues. 1) Bring your Own US HD/TV -- Yemen analog TV's run (to my knowledge) on the SECAM analog standard & the US Wii runs on the NTSC analog standard. US HDTV's run on the ATSC digital standard, which is suppose to support all analog standards... but I haven't been able to confirm this. ALTERNATIVELY, you can pick up a dedicated portable LCD screen for the Wii for about $120 at http://www.thinkgeek.com/electronics/video/a749 2) Bring your own plug-in adapters -- Yemen electrical plugs are different than the US. 3) Get a power converter -- Yemen likely runs on 240 V system instead of the US's 120 V system. You'll need a power converter to prevent your US appliances from being destroyed. To put things bluntly... it's most likely not worth the hassle in getting everything to play your Wii in Yemen. It may not be the answer you want to hear, but it's the truth that you'll need to hear.
