A: Yes $400 is a lot of money, however have you considered asking her to split the difference with you? If you can contribute 200.00 and she contributes 200.00, there you go. It is not hard to save two hundred dollars. First dig through your change, roll it up and count it. Then (I don't know how old you are but if you are on the computer asking questions then you should be able to mow grass or babysit) ask a few of your neighbors (or relatives) if they would like for you to mow their grass or babysit for them. There are typically 4 Saturday's in a month so if you mow 2 yards every Saturday (or watch someone's child for a few hours) for a month for $20 each, that is $160. Then I'm sure you will get at least $40 dollars from your friends/family for your birthday. If you show your mom that you are grown up and mature she is much more likely to help you get the Wii. Remember that in today's shaky economy that 400.00 is a lot. When she bought your bro an Xbox and it was 600.00 the money situation was probably different. Gas prices are at an all time high right now, being more than $4 in places, to many people it takes almost 60-100 to fill up on a tank of gas. If I were you, show your mom how you can help around the house, helps others with stuff that needs to be done. Maturity goes a long way! Keep in mind too, although you probably don't want to hear it, be thankful that you have a mom that you can even consider asking for a Wii. Some kids know that their mom would never be even able to buy groceries at times must less a Wii.
