A: No it won't play DVD's, sorry. But, yes to your question about youtube, as long as you have the internet channel. I have many times watched things on youtube, depending on the type of player you need for the video you are watching. I have even streaming movies/tv shows and watched them on my wii. Many times I have watched South Park, just to name one, on my Wii. Hope this helped
