Can you communicate with other people on the wii at all (besides looking at there mii's)?

Q: Also besides the wii speak coming out this holiday season.

A: There's Wii-Mail, sending messages/pictures to people. In Brawl you can set messages and use them in battle. Other than that, there isn't much communication going between people. It's mainly because for years, Nintendo has been the family console. It makes the most family appropriate games. If people could speak to each other, there'd definitely be insults, cursing, etc. like with the PS3 and Xbox online play (especially Xbox Live...). The Wii's online play has been criticized for this, so now they're coming out with WiiSpeak.
