Samsung Galaxy A54 Gaming Test – Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, COD: Mobile & PUBG

The midrange market has certainly grown by leaps and bounds over the years. Gone are the days of mediocre functionality, with modern offerings bringing upgraded camera performance, gaming horsepower, and more. For Samsung, its Galaxy A series serves as the budget-friendly alternative, and the family has now expanded to include the Galaxy A54.

Alongside an Exynos 1380 processor and a Mali-G68 MP5 GPU, the device boasts a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display that offers a 2,400 x 1,080 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Putting it through the gaming gauntlet with Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Call of Duty: Mobile, and PUBG Mobile yielded a decent showing — for its price — on the field, reaching a temperature high of 41.7 degrees.

Frame rate drops and stutter were more prominent in Genshin Impact, which considering its more GPU-intensive nature, doesn’t come as a surprise. Honkai: Star Rail recorded inconsistent performance at times, but the other titles ran relatively smoothly with little to no issues faced.
